The school

The school, founded in 1989, organizes English courses all over the year. It is surrounded by a large garden and an extensive natural woodland area, provides high standards of teaching with experienced and caring teachers, a wide range of courses, an interesting social programme with visits and excursions, and the possibility to have accommodation very near the school (the residence is only 10 minutes on foot). Moreover it's only 20 minutes far by tube from Piccadilly Circus, the very heart of London, and 15 minutes from Covent Garden and Leicester Square, theatres, cinemas, pubs and discos areas. The school has many facilities such as a library stocked with dictionaries, exercise books and tapes available to improve listening comprehension, a computer room with Internet access and a cafeteria for meals, drinks and snacks. Location

The school is located in a fashionable and lively residential area of North London. The houses are attractive with a very distinct architectural character. There are restaurants, pubs, cinemas, a nightclub and a large park with a small boating lake and wonderful views over the centre of London. Inside Heathrow airport you can get the tube (the "Piccadilly Line") and without changing in one hour you arrive at Bounds Green stop, not far from the school. Up

Tuition

Courses start each Monday and levels are from elementary to advanced (beginners in July and August only). Minimum age is 16 but average is 25-26. The first day students have an entry test (written and oral) to evaluate their English knowledge and to form homogeneous classes with no more than 12 students. Tuition methods, which are fundamentally communicative, cover all aspects of language teaching (grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking and pronunciation). Moreover qualified and experienced teachers and the high quality of the teaching material guarantee that "Excel English Language School" students obtain the maximum benefit from the course. At the end of the chosen course the student receives an attendance diploma issued by the school. Up

Accreditation

The school is recognized by the British Council and is member of Quality English, a group which includes the best independent language schools and membership is by invitation only. The British Council promotes Britain overseas through cultural, educational and technical co-operation. This commitment to the English language is again evident in the accreditation scheme the British Council runs in Britain to safeguard the interests of the overseas students. This scheme for the recognition of independent establishments specialising in the teaching of English as a foreign language in Britain was introduced in 1982. It is voluntary and is based on inspection of teaching services and premises and includes consideration of student and staff welfare. Up
